Help me identify this car
We have a car in the shop. No idea what it is or any of the history behind it. Any ideas?
Email me at Joe @ MichiganClassics.com if you have any leads or information. Thanks in advance |

Re: Help me identify this car
Looks similar to an old 1930's Delahaye.

Re: Help me identify this car
Obviously the '36 Ford Grille and dual master were added if it was anything originally..
It resembles the '40/41 Chrysler Newport/Pacecar Phaetons...perhaps someone's unfinished home-made version w/ a dorsal fin added!. http://images.google.ca/imgres?imgurl=ht...l%3Den%26sa%3DN Those front fenders w/ the lower reliefs are unique and should be indentifiable?. Nice touch w/ the spiderweb on the glovebox door...maybe an old movie car or something that's never been more than a roller?. ~ Pete |

Re: Help me identify this car
'35-'36 Auburn front fenders? '39 Lincoln Zephyr rear body? Definitely a '36 Ford grille.

Re: Help me identify this car
------Theres some stuff mixed in there as well off a Buick, I think. The dash looks like late 30s early 40s Buick with mods. Ford front wheel may speak to what started life as a Ford frame, but who the he// knows. Front suspension is totally Ford. Where do you start on that one???.......Bill S

Re: Help me identify this car
Steering Wheel looks like it might be from A Citroen.
The car looks like it's a mix of all kinds of parts. |

Re: Help me identify this car
After a bit of Googling, Bill's guess for the rear fenders seems correct as more things on the car appear to be 37/38 Lincoln Zephyr..
...minus the added gauges, the dash looks exact to the Zephyr one on this page... http://images.google.ca/imgres?imgurl=ht...l%3Den%26sa%3DN ...and the cowl looks like it has the same ribs as a Zephyr although the subject car's cowl appears to have been sectioned from the top?. http://images.google.ca/imgres?imgurl=ht...l%3Den%26sa%3DG But those front fenders...are the lower reliefs added or in the original stampings? . ~ Pete

Thanks in advance Damn I knew the dorsel fin was making a comeback!! Someone very creative with the torch from the looks of it. Sadly another great plan goes unfinished. We actually drove the cardboard car this summer. Still looking for a tinsmith to make the body for less than a million dollars. homemade car |
