Default 1970 Z28

Beautiful 1970 Z28 in very original condition. This is a rust free and never damaged Z28 that has very rare options. The LT1 engine was at it’s peak in 1970 and only in the Z28 and the few COPO Novas could it be ordered with a special high performance M40 transmission. This is the only solid lifter small block combination that was ever available with an automatic transmission. On top of that, this car has the factory installed 4.10 rear end. With shift points approaching 6,500 RPM and a 4.10 rear end, it’s amazing that this car and its original driveline lived at all, much less made it through in such good, original condition.

This car also has the Rally Sport option that was factory installed. It still wears its original black vinyl top that is in wonderful condition. The car had one repaint in the 80’s and aside from that is pretty much undisturbed. The engine is original with a build date of 04-15-70 and the VIN is stamped by the oil filter. The stamp and broach marks are original and the casting date of the engine is 04-14-70.
The transmission has the original CW tag and VIN on it and the rear has the original code on it.

The Norwood trim tag reflects the Z28 option and it has a replacement Warranty Plate from the owner that purchased the car in 1971. This Z28 spent most of its life in Florida and is rust free. The interior is original and in wonderful condition. The car has the original engine, transmission, rear, carb, and alternator. It does have a smog pump, but it has an incorrect diverter valve. The car was undercoated when new since it was delivered to Florida. The car has a brand new Garner exhaust system and reproduction Goodyear Polyglass tires. I’m selling this car to purchase a 67 Corvette and my price is $39,500.

Tim

This is one great car that REALLY runs! 4.10 gears! And some very nice extensive owner history. Sorry to see it go but whoever gets this Z will be quite happy!
