Default 70 Z/28 or Deuce LT1 Engine 4 Speed CTB Suffix

I have a 70 LT1 block and thought I would try to see if the car is still around before selling it. The last 6 of the vin look to be 529121. The block is cast on D 3 0. The ad stamp is hard to read. It looks like V0--0CTB. I imagine the first blank is a 4 and the second is a 1 or 2. I believe the car was in the Monterey Bay, CA area when the engine was separated from the car. Let me know if you know the whereabouts of the car. I would like to see the engine back with the car.

Is the VIN on the block deck? If so, it's possibly a LA built Z28 Camaro. In any event, I may also suggest to make a post on nasty228.com in either the "original drivetrain topic" section or in the "swap meet section".

I will try that if I get the time to sign up etc. There is a VIN by the oil filter. I believe it is a Norwood VIN. I see an N but am not sure if its my eyes and the casting playing tricks on me. Pictures coming.

Yeah, I thought that was cool too. Does anyone else see an N before the 5?

Thanks,

I checked, the VIN isn't registered on nastyz28. However, the number does fall between two that are, a 124870N528873 04C and a 124870L529734 06D.

I can see it too.

Is it still standard bore?

How much for the block, if you don't find the original car?

I have a 04D Van Nuys Z28. It might work.

The block is 0.030. I would like to try to find the car first and give the owner first shot at the block. If I cannot find the car in a few weeks, I will sell it outright.
