Default POLISHING ALUMINUM VALVE COVERS

I have a set of small block Chevy Mickey Thompson aluminum valve covers that are not pitted but dull and have dark grey/black spots on them. What is the best way to polish these?? I considered having them chromed but a local chrome shop quoted me 2-4 hundred dollars to chrome them...

Anyone have any ideas??

Rich

Eastwood has a buffing kit that goes on a bench grider that works very well; it's messy and time consuming. Also, put a good polish like Mother's on after buffing to get it to last a while, and re-mothering periodically will keep them nice.

The "BEST WAY" to polish your valve covers is having them put through
a Vibratory Tumbler with the "correct" ceramic media and fluid.

Sorry that I cant supply a specific vendor

There is a member here who polishes valve covers at a reasonable price. I think his name us Andy and has a clever business name: ipolishit
