Looked in my Nova AIM and it shows ~ part 6 3955793 ROD 3955795 396 ENG.

Difference is most likely do to the driveline offset on the BB cars...I've never seen both parts side by side...but, you could probably make the SB part work in a pinch. Steering column to frame should be the same...bracket too...then the angle changes slightly.

These posts are older, but yes the 3955795 is for the BB only. I agree with Wilma that in a pinch you can make the SB rod work but the 3955795 is correct for BB due to length and offset. The BB Nova rod is also not correct for the BB Camaro either, as some may think, due to the reverse lever on the tranny being different on a Camaro. I believe here again you can make the SB or BB rods interchange from Nova to Camaro and visa versa, but technically the two are different due to the shift lever on the tranny.

Yes, the reverse lever on a 69 Camaro is flat, where the 69-70 Nova has about a 1/4" offset to it. Now this info is good for the 69-70 BB Nova and 69 Camaro. I believe some of the Novas like a Yenko Deuce used the
![]() ![]() same shifter, linkage, and levers as a Camaro. I've got photos to show of BB Nova levers verses 69 Camaro, but haven't figured out how to post them on here. |
