Master Cylinder Top Plate Cover?
What do you guys think about this master cylinder top plate cover. Is it an "Assembly Line" part and would it be correct for a 1970 Chevelle?
Thanks in Advance for your help and thoughts.

The top of my 1970 Nova cover reads "SERVICE WITH" "DELCO PARTS".

Thanks Guys. Wasn't 100% sure. I appreciate the info. It was pretty clean and I thought about using it on my 70.

Just to be sure, isn't it the other way around?
Doesn't the factory cover have the Delco Fluid Part Number J1703 and the SERVICE cap simply said "Service with Delco Parts". Just checking as I thought this was the case... |

Take a look at the Master Cylinder/Booster/Valve that has just been listed on this site for sale..
The 69 covers are the round edge ones...1970 went to rectangle... The original 70 set up i just mentioned for sale TODAY on this site shows the Delco brake fluid part number... Since 1970 is FIRST year for the rectangle cover, how can the J1706 cover not be the correct one for 70? Also think it is for 71 as well... This should be confirmed by somebody with an original car... |

It's the lack of the "Service With Delco Parts" lettering that makes it "incorrect". Both covers have the J1703 wording.
I think these "General Motors Delco Moraine" covers came along after 1972 but don't know 100%. I pulled 5 original Delco disc brake (w/bleeders) masters w/likely original lids (from 70-72 Abody cars...EB and BE stampings on the nose) at a local salvage place that was closing up this winter. None had the "General Motors Delco Moraine" covers....all had the "Service With Delco Parts" wording. Still, the OP's cover sure is a nice substitute to have while looking for the earlier cover...much cooler/better than any repro cover.
