3946074 AFR Heads

Hi everyone, I thought this was a pretty unique set of heads that I had originally ear marked for a stock restoration and after further getting into decided there most likey of much more value to someone else.

To start with these are more modern cast 074 GM aluminum heads. They have had racing use in the past and have fixes on one rocker stud in each head. The inside of several combustion chambers have also been welded, dressed, and pre machine for final surfacing.

The unique and from what I can tell rare thing is these are heads that were worked by Air Flow Research. Im told in AFRs early days they modified existing heads. The heads are stamped “Air Flow Research” in cursive writing. The porting on the heads is nothing short of impressive. The heads also have the less often seen D ports with an air fin on the exhaust port outlets.
