Friday Sept 16 is test'n tune, Saturday is the big day. This is in Stanton, MI, NW of Lansing. We've had guys from Providence and Omaha trailer a car, so there's no good reason why you can't hitch a flight to see what all the fuss is about. Yours truly will be manning the mic.

Long story, but I will be driving my car from Kansas City to Detroit, meeting up with my (new to me ) truck and trailer then going over to Stanton. 1970ls6, I believe the long distance driving crown will be going back to you since I will show up to the track in the back of a trailer!

Question: do the pure stock rules vary from race track to race track or are they consistent? Have they evolved over time? Thanks,

The rules are for this race only. The only similar event I know of are loosely based on these rules but are slightly different. That other event was run by a participant of the PS races.
Regarding the rules, I'm sure there's been some evolution but it's all been to maintain the integrity of the event, rather than to loosen the rules. |

Last year it was stated that this event is the most fun that you can have with your clothes still on! The great thing about this event is that you can be a slow car or a fast car, just do the best you can with it. The match races on Saturday are very close due to the fact that they start from the fast qualifiers and work their way through all of the qualifing times. Usually, less than a .01 of a second seperate the competitors on Saturday.

Rain most of the day Friday...got a little over an hour of run time late afternoon, and with no sun and air temps in the 50-60 range the track was a *tad* slick. The Yellow Submarine slipped 'n slided to a 12.56 on the first pass outta the trailer, and then went over 114mph on the next run...JJ doin' his thing as usual in the 11.70 range, Pete was low 12s...good turnout, somewhere around 130 cars? Today is elim day...
