Default Pure Stock Drags

Any updates on the race? Should be some interesting stuff. I understand yesterday was rained out. Today was a modified schedule for yesterdays misfortune. If anybody gets anything or hears anything please post.

Dad called this morning and said his best time yesterday in the time trials was 14.87 at 94 m.p.h. He did not watch maney races he said. Rob, Pete, how did you do?

Ran a different type program on Saturday due to the rain on Friday, but it worked out "ok", as I got some time to put a tune on our Camaro for the first time in a year...something musta clicked, as it ran a slip-sliding 12.33 @ 115.01! The air was far from killer, so that bent axle we fixed last week musta been holding us back a tad before...stinkin' thing still won't hook, as the crappy 2.0x short times show, but the horsepower now seems to be there. If I could ever hook it, I think it would go .20s or better...

JJ and Pete were the #1 and #2 qualifiers (respectively)...JJ was going his usual 11.7s @ 122 and Pete ran a 12.008 @ 116! And lets not forget the newest addition to the Simpson camp, the 454 Monte of Eric and Owen...that stinkin' party barge ran a 13.8 at over 100! Love that Cortez Silver boys...

I talked to Pete today for about 45 min and he said the car is a screeming machine. He feels that if you tidy her up a little that 12.0's are there. Nothing like another winter project for you Robert. I think that if you keep improving like you are that that is just around the corner. If you go too fast you'll have to certify her though.

Jim

Kind of partial to CORTEZ Silver myself.

And the Monte is barely broken in yet! They just drove 400 miles from Glencoe to Stanton and let it all hang out.

Class car.....
