Default Painted or unfinished axle housing?

I'm trying to find out if any other 4th gen. camaro from SLP or GMMG came with a painted (finished) rear axle housing. I've been in touch with several owners of cars produced by both companies (ZL1's, Intimidators, Tom Henry SS's & other regular production 30th Anniversary SS's) and all of them say their axles are unfinished and covered with slight surface rust. I also noticed that other items on the other cars chassis were unfinished as well. Items like the radiator clamps, front spindles and other nuts & bolts under the cars
seem to have the same surface rust on them. All of these cars have very low mileage and have been kept in pristine condition. I have taken
extensive photos of the undercarriage of my '97 SS LT4 and found that the axle housing came painted and all of the fasteners used were
stainless. There is not a hint of oxidation or surface rust anywhere. Does anyone know if SLP finished these LT4 cars differently than the other cars they produced?
