TX is easy and they'll send you copies from their microfilm for every doc in their file. Find the TX MVD web site and do the paperwork.

I had no luck with Florida. I called the FL DMV and was told to send in the form and $ and they would send me any info they had. 2 Months later I received a letter stating that they didn't have any info that old and I would be sent a refund. Antoher 2 months and the refund finally appreared.

I did a TX search about a year ago. I was trying to track down a car I know was sold there in 1983. It came back with nothing, but they said their records aren't guaranteed for anything over 7 years.
