I am changing the pitman arm on my 68 camaro to the longer pitman for a quicker steering ratio. Does the idler arm need to be the same length as the pitman? The pitman is 5.8 inches long and the idler on the car now is 5.25 inches. Thanks

No, it does not need to be the same length. '68 and '69 used the 5.25" length idler for all applications.
