My first was a 1974 Vega GT.

My mother overheard my uncle asking another uncle if he could buy the seats out of the old Vega parked on the side of the house.
My mother inquired if the car ran, it did and she gave him $300 bucks and I was riding.

I was only able to keep it running for 6 months as it was on it's last leg way before I got it.
My dad had a 1969 Kingswood Estate Wagon he was trying to sell, I begged and pleaded to buy it to use the powertrain, but he said no. Turned out a guy interested in buying heard me complaining about wanting the engine and trans and threw in a 350/350 drive train he had with nothing to put it in.
I went from the laughing stock of the school parking lot to leader of the pack in 2 long greasy weeks.
I will never forget that old Gold Terd, and I have been building my own rides ever since.
