I use basic sand blasting sand and a standup outdoor blaster. For many of you following I dont get bogged down in the details of thinking the most exocitc process is the best. I keep things as simple as I can. In terms of sand I use the stuff stocked at the local Menards for those that live in the midwest. Most here on the forum are gonna die laughing but I still use the old school lacquer based primers. Im not afraid to use the lacqur direclty on the blasted metal. Once I get into the stage of sanding and removing pits 90% of the first coat is sanded off. Body panel work is a total different story. I get into the more better adhering epoxy primers for my basecoat but still layer body filler and lacquire primer on top of that.

Ocassionally i will use a 2k high build primer but I will only get into that with easily sanded surfaces and heavier pitting. This car will not require and 2k as im already finding a single sand is elimating all pits if they even exist.
