Thought of a way to check a little closer.

We would assume a
Schrader stem would have a Schrader cap.
Dill stem would have a Dill cap.
That would help narrow it down
Still leaves dating the different type Schrader's but that is a separate issue.

"OLE BLUE" does indeed have its new condition "Firestone" spare.
Actually all 5 wheels have same 1/6/9 dates.
4 tires on car were changed so no help there.
May be an excuse to fill spare with Nitrogen next summer.
Still going with Schraders as they are by far rarer

Would like to know how car was new though.

Anyone have spare wheels with factory stem still that has looked at this?
Maybe there is a way to tell on outside?
Will get pics of hers.

Too the folks asking questions I do not know the exact application of the 627 caps, but they are very likely right for you 3.
As pointed out these were likely a "standard" item and were sourced as needed.

Obviously the 627 is much more common than the Schrader type I was looking for but that is a moot point here.

To all that have not done it send mailing info, and I will send in small, padded envelopes.
Honor system as stated and just send actual shipping cost on label.

Pics are "OLE BLUES" spare tire and last one is 5 NOS DILL stem- cap assemblies for comparison.
Note rib around base on Dill stem that is not on "OLE BLUES" stem.
Note taper is quite different.
Thoughts on that?

80 spoke for so far.

Would be very interested in pics of a NOS Schrader stem- cap like the Dill ones pictured. Even better would if we could buy one as an example.

Still like to hear thoughts on use- time frame for these 2 types.

Thanks for the pic of "Bar Type" Schrader caps.
Have been told they are 68- older.

Really hoping someone has done their homework on this but it is likely being a standard part it is mixed up.

Pic is a poorer look at "Bar Type" Schrader's but the stems are there.

Second pic is my Dill examples again for comparison.
Again, note taper and lip are different than the LH "Schrader" example.
The Dill examples are mine.

105 spoke for so far.
Will send them out Frida AM USPS padded envelope.
Glad to see them being used.
Been in that sack long enough.

Found a pic of a 68 Corvette Spare tire that has a bar type Schrader cap.
Pic is not good but you can see stem matches the stem in "OLE BLUES" spare.
Top pic is 68 Covette
Bottom pic is "OLE BLUES" for comparison.

125 spoke for
Approaching the finish line.
Stopping at 150 as we are keeping rest as stash.

Found a few more pics for reference.

Top pic is cap on 68 Vette spare pictured above.
Date does not make sense???

Second pic is a set of bar tops for sale.

Third is a 67-wheel with a Schrader looking stem and a type 1 cap????
If legit factory issue we have a scrambled mess here

Fourth is type 1 also pictured above we bought off a 69 Vette new condition spare.
